Hi, I’m Kate.
I have a passion for people, a love of books, and an aversion to quiet. I am an enthusiastic questioner of everything. I am mother to an inquisitive and rather fabulous young adult, and am married to a deep-thinking and outdoor-loving former Infantryman. Over the last few decades, our military family moved every few years, so I took job opportunities where they’ve come, learning amazing lessons and meeting interesting people along the way. I’m excited to have settled down in northern New York, a breathtakingly beautiful place where I have found my niche as teacher librarian at the middle school I’ve admired since my kiddo was a student there.
I began this blog when I started library school, and have in turn nurtured and ignored it. I’m looking forward to returning to the origins of this blog, and posting more school library content as we move into and through the coming school year.
I hold a B.A. in English Literature and an M.S. in Library and Information Science. I’ve spent most of my life teaching–teaching English and “Library Skills” to High School students; life skills to adults; and the Hokey Pokey to preschoolers. I’ve also heartily encourage a little singing and dancing in non-preschool environments.
Stay curious!
